Elder Henry Williams Bobo died Saturday, July 30th at his home in Sacramento.

Henry was a retired Air Force MSgt, Pastor, and Kaiser Allergy Nurse. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran and devoted Christian who lived his life for God and family.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Maria Bobo, and their daughters Elsie and Mary.

Public viewing August 5 2011 from 4-8pm. Funeral August 6 2011 at 10am. Services will be held at East Lawn Mortuary on Greenback Lane in Sacramento.

Henry Williams Bobo entered this life on February 15th 1937 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born to the late Ira and Elsie F. Bobo, and was the youngest of two children. Both his parents and sister (Jeanette Kendrick) preceded him in death.

He attended public school in Memphis, TN and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1955. Later that same year, Henry joined the United States Air Force where his main ambition was to become a doctor. After basic training in San Antonio, he was sent to Basic Medical School and graduated with honors. In January 1956 Henry was assigned to Clovis AFB (now Cannon AFB) where he attended Eastern New Mexico University. While at Clovis AFB, he was in charge of the Emergency Room and Minor Surgery Clinic. During his military career Henry did everything but major surgery. He flew Medevac Helicopters in Vietnam, was appointed the Non-Commission Officer in charge of Air Evacuation in Thailand, served as the head of Allergy, Dermatology and U.S. Public Health Services at Travis A.F.B., and attended the Aerospace School of Medicine in San Antonio, Texas.

While stationed in the Philippines at Clark Air Force Base in 1974, Henry met the love of his life Maria Miclat and they married two years later. They settled down in Sacramento where they raised their two children, and Henry retired from the Air Force.

An ever-faithful man of God, Henry accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee at the age of twelve. On April 7th 1960, Henry joined The Church of the Living God Pillar Ground and Truth in San Francisco, CA under Eldress Cassie Anderson. One year later, he was ordained a Deacon and received his 32nd Degree in the Scottish Rite Free Masons. In 1977 he became an ordained minister of The Church of the Living God P.G.T., and served a congregation in San Francisco, CA for over 20 years.

A true soldier, world traveler, and living testimony, Elder Henry Bobo left this earth on July 30th 2011. He is survived by his wife of 34 years and 6 months, Maria Bobo; his two daughters, Mary Becker and Elsie Bobo; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Interesting facts: Elder Henry W. Bobo spoke five languages; traveled to every continent on Earth except Antarctica; appeared on National television; survived a kidney transplant, bilateral subdural hematoma, heart attack, stroke, congestive heart failure, and hypertension; and never broke a single bone in his body. He was truly favored by God.
