Addison "Duff" Agle, January 24, 1922 - May 8, 2010 CENTER CONWAY, NH - Addison "Duff" Agle, 88 of Center Conway, NH died Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Mineral Springs Nursing And Rehab.
He was born January 24, 1922 in Belmont, NH, the son of the late Allen M. and Anna Mae (Hamel) Agle.
He served in WWII and the Korean conflict, and then began his lifetime career as a helicopter pilot for the United States Air Force, retiring as Lt. Colonel in June 1967. After his retirement from the Air Force the couple lived in Dothan, Alabama where Duff was a helicopter pilot instructor at Fort Rucker Army Post. In 1974 he retired from flying and they moved to Sanford, ME to be closer to family.
He was predeceased by his wife, Pauline "Polly" Heath Agle of Fryeburg who died September 20, 1990, sisters, Phyllis Carey, Lois Agle-Gondez and grandson Brian Rosenow.
He is survived by three daughters, Pamela Emery and her husband Alan of Fryeburg, ME; Anna Mae Rosenow and her husband Bernd of Wilmington, OH; Kathy Lane and her husband Cliff of Slocomb, AL; a sister Maxine Osgood, four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 2:00 pm., Saturday, May 22 at Pinegrove Cemetery, Fryeburg, ME. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Brain Injury of NH, 109 N. State St., Concord, NH 03301 in honor of his granddaughter, Tonya Emery. Arrangements are made with Wood Funeral Home, Fryeburg, ME. |
