Becquet Helicopter Mechanic on H-53's and H-60's; 1986 - 1990 at RAF Woodbridge, UK. 1990 - 1994 at Hurlburt Fld, FL. 1994 - 2003 at RAF Mildenhall, UK. 2003 - 2006 at Davis-Monthan AFB, Tucson, AZ. 16 October 2006 Died of a Heart Attack while on Active Duty. GUEST BOOK October 19, 2006 THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU....To Eugene B. Becquet, I've never meet you in my life, but I just wanted to thank you for serving our country with Pride & Dignity, until the end. You are an example for someone else to do the same one day. I served my country also, in the United States Army. To your wife, may God give you the strength, to carry this load of loosing a loved one. Since my brother was murdered in August 10, 1986, I found healing through writing to people who have lost loved ones, as I did. It is a awful experience to deal with, but know that Jesus is with you. May you keep the memories of your loved one tatooed in your heart forever, he will give you strength, and you and your children are in my prayers. When you are feeling down, take the time to read this: "YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE" When you walk through a storm hold your head up high and don't be afraid of the dark. At the end of a storm is a golden sky, and the sweet silver song of a lark. Walk on through the wind, walk on through the rain, tho' your dreams be tossed or blown. His knowledge, guidance and steadying presence were greatly appreciated by me. In the short time I knew him I came to respect and admire the way he carried himself. Gene was my supervisor for a couple of years and wrote my EPR's. Fives of course! :) My name was on the RH E-bay door of aircraft 70-1626, below Gene's as I was his assistant. This aircraft saved the lives of over 1600 people in Liberia Africa flying a consecutive 26 hours, unheard of for a helicopter, this was down to Gene's dedication on making the aircraft the best he could. I was proud to serve under him and proud to be his friend. A very nice guy! I was shocked when I read the news on pavelow and am still in awe. Geno always made time to socialize with everyone, whether on a long Italy trip or at home station. GREAT GUY! My thoughts are with his family. It has been so many, too many, years since I have seen him. Oddly enough my father passed away Feb. 10th, 2006...and MSgt. Becquet took over his job. I just wanted to say that I am truly sorry...and that I can honestly say I know exactly what you are going through. I don't think there is anything any of us will ever have to deal with that is harder. And at this time of year it gets especially rough. I do hope that you will find the strength to continue on. Even though we only spent our first 5 or so years in the USAF at Woodbridge it was always a given that we would cross paths again. I think about him often and wish I could have been present at his funeral. Gene was my first friend in the Air Force having met at basic training and having neighboring dorm rooms in tech school guaranteed a posatively enjoyable learning enviornment. My name is Tommy Becquet. I am Gene’s cousin. I am not sure if we have met. If we did it would have been at Vincent’s funeral. I have seen many, many pictures of you, Gene and the kids. For the last 14 years Uncle George and Aunt Jill have spent Thanksgiving Day with us here in Corpus Christi and we always talk about the old days in Amarillo. We always play Cribbage. I remember growing up at Christmas we would have four or five games going on at the same time. The grown ups in one room and the kids in another! All of the cousin were real close growing up but after graduation from High School we all went separate ways. I have a lot of good memories with Gene and Vincent. I miss them both.
