William F. Lange 1935 - February 17, 2015
William F. Lange, 80, of Montvale, NJ passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2015. Born and raised in White Plains, NY.
Surviving is his beloved wife, Mary Lou of 59 years. Devoted father of Jeff, wife Anne, Christine, husband George, and Laura, husband Mark. Devoted grandfather of Jessica, Kelly and Jimmy of Peachtree City, GA and Jamie, Nikki, Brian, Rachel, Matt, Lindsay and Danny of Park Ridge, NJ. Brother to Linda Dennie, Barbara Parton, the late Donald Lange, the late Richard Lange.
He was a graduate of NYU with a Mechanical Engineering Degree. Always a car enthusiast, his first car was a 1935 Ford Phaeton. He also owned an Austin Healy and a 1952 Old Indian Chief Motorcycle. He also loved to fly and joined the Air Force where he flew B25 Mitchell Bombers, T 28's and H-5 Helicopters. He then worked for Sikorsky Helicopter as a Helicopter test pilot until he took a job with General Motors where he worked for 20 years.
They lived many places from coast to coast before settling in Montvale, NJ in 1965. He was multi-talented and could fix almost anything. He owned every tool you could imagine. He took pride in his property. He did all the planting, landscape design and maintained it himself. He also built his own deck, tool shed, treehouse and gocart with a lawn mower engine for the kids. He sang with the Valley Singers, coached Little League, member of the Zoning Board for over 40 years. In retirement he was a crossing guard in the center of town. Most important to him was his status as " Park Ridge's #1 Fan" for his grandchildren.
