Robert P. Koecher, SSgt. USAF May 11, 1946 - October 22, 1973
SSgt. Robert P. Koecher entered this life on 11 May 1946 at Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. Departed this life 22 October 1973 at Osan, Korea.
Sgt. Hoecher is survived by his wife - Patricia Christofer and one son of South Roy, UT. Also surviving are his mother, Rita Koecher. of Fond Du Lac, WI. and one sister, Mary Ann Whitehouse of Sun Prairie, WI. His father, Arthur Koecher, preceded him in death in April 1968.
Sgt. Koecher attended publick schools in Fond Du Lake, WI. He also attended Eau Claire University and the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, WI. He entered the United States Air Force on 22 Septembere 1965 and his assignments included - Lakeland AFB, TX., McCoy AFB, FL., Orlando AFB, FL., Eglin AFB, FL., Udorn RTAFB, Thailand, Hill AFB, UT. and Osan AB, Korea. Sgt. Koecher received the following decoration - the Air Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Distinguished Flying Cross with one Oak Leaf Cluster and held the Senior Parachutist rating.
