Walt, Robert Avert- 6028 Flushing Rd, age 56, died Thursday, September 4, 1980, at Flint Osteopathic Hospital. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 6, at the Rossell Funeral Home, Rev. Elmer Krentz officiating. Burial in Crestwood Memorial Gardens, Grand Blanc.

Mr. Walt was born in Clio, Mich., June 15, 1924, the son of Harold R. and Eunice H. Walt. He married Wanda Sandlin in Denver, Colo. May 9, 1945.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force during World War II and was one of the first officers to receive a helicopter pilot’s license and then was in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

He was employed by Buick Motor Division for 32 years, retiring in 1973.

Surviving are: wife, Wanda; son, Roger of Anchorage, Alaska; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Robert Matteson of Cho; daughters, Barbara and Sharon Walt, both of Flint; 2 grandsons, Robert Jr. and Mark Matteson; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Walt of Hale; brother, Eldon Walt of Flushing; sister, Dorthea Edwards of Gaines; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
