William "Bill" Arvil Sandusky, USAF

November 17, 1945 - October 18, 2014



SANDUSKY, WILLIAM ARVIL (BILL) - born November 17, 1945, passed away Saturday October 18, 2014, at James H. Quillen Medical Center at Mountain Home, Tennessee.

 

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force from 1965 - 1969, where he served as a helicopter mechanic.

 

Bill was of the Baptist faith and a 1964 graduate of Fulton High School in Knoxville, he received his bachelor's degree in education from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1978. Mr. Sandusky was a lifelong musician from an early age, also early in his career he worked in the mental health field in Chattanooga.

 

He was preceded in death by parents, Arvil Sam and Nancy Amanda (Belton) Sandusky; brother, Kerry Sandusky (California); sisters, Rebecca (Becky) Stout (Knoxville), and Tywlla Campbell (California). Survived by wife, Betty H. Sandusky of Knoxville; son, William David Sandusky and wife Anegelique; and daughter, Alexa, of CA; daughter, Melissa Lusby and husband Kevin; and daughters, Megan and Emma of Knoxville; former wife, Patricia Sandusky (mother of his children) of Knoxville; brother and sister-in-law, David and Sharon Sandusky of Michigan; sister and brother-in-law, Connie and Hugh Gamble of California; brother-in-law, Cal Campbell of California; many nephews and nieces.

 

Mr. Sandusky will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel. A memorial services will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Ron Burress officiating. Mr. Sandusky was cremated prior to the service at his request.
