PILUTTI, Albert James age 83, of Beavercreek, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, March 1, 2012. He was born in Gary, Indiana on November 13, 1928 to John and Louise (Muzzin) Pilutti, who preceded him in death.

 

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Aldo Pilutti. Albert is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rita M. (Burelli) Pilutti, whom he married on October 4, 1958; his son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Deb Pilutti , of Ann Arbor, MI and their children, Kyle and Jack Pilutti; his daughter and son-in-law, Janine L. (Pilutti) and Thom Jedding, of St. Louis, MO and their children, Andrew, Thomas, Daniel and Nicole Jedding; a sister, Mary McGowan, of Marietta, OH ; a brother, Adelchi Pilutti, of Ocean Springs, MS and many nieces and nephews.

 

He enlisted in the United States Air Force serving as a helicopter mechanic following his graduation from Irondale High School in Irondale, OH. Albert retired from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base after 34 years of service in jet engine repair, logistics and procurement for the F-4, B-52, B-1 and various other cruise missile systems. In retirement, he was a valued aircraft restorer (in excess of 4,000 hours) for the Wright-Patterson Air Force Museum.

 

He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church, The Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post #355.

 

Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the Tobias Funeral Home-Beavercreek Chapel, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at St. Helen Catholic Church, 5100 Burkhardt Road, Riverside, OH with Father David Brinkmoeller, celebrant. Entombment will be in the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2012.

 

If desired, contributions may be made in memory of Albert to the St. Helen Endowment Fund or the American Heart Association.
