"WEB SITE DESCRIPTION" USAF ROTORHEADS – A site paying tribute to all Air Force helicopter personnel both ground helicopter maintenance or flight-crew for their sacrifices and dedicated service to our great country. A site to honors those U. S. Air Force helicopter personnel that were POW/MIA/KIA in all armed conflicts to insure their sacrifices will never be forgotten. A site that has a goal to document and preserve U. S. Air Force helicopter history from the Air Force’s beginning to the present. A site that serves as a tool allowing members to exchange and/or share stories, pictures and other items of Air Force helicopter interest. A site that provides a media for renewing old friendships and creating new friendships. A vision to become the “site of choice” relating to all U. S. Air Force helicopter matters.
“USAF ROTORHEAD”
DEFINITION: United States Air Force, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve personnel, past or present, which have been or are assigned to a Air Force helicopter unit. (Flight crewmembers regardless of crew position and ground personnel assigned to the helicopter maintenance AFSC career field).
MEMBERSHIP CRITERIA The USAF ROTORHEADS have established several types of membership and the criteria for each are as follows:
Full Membership: An individual that has served or is serving in the U. S. Air Force, Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserves that was/are ground personnel assigned to the helicopter maintenance career field Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) and/or assigned as a helicopter flight crew member, regardless of crew member position.
Exchange Service Membership: An individual from other U. S. military services or foreign Nationals that are or have been operationally assigned/attached to a U. S. Air Force helicopter organization (Not to include training status only.) These individuals will otherwise meet the “Full Membership” criteria.
Associate Membership: An individual not meeting the criteria for “Full Membership”. Individuals who are agreeable to providing items and/or pictures that contribute to the USAF ROTORHEADS goal of documenting and preserving U. S. Air Force helicopter history may be considered for “Associate Membership”. All prospective Associate Members will be known and recommended by a current member to insure the prospect is willing to assist with achieving our primary goal. Additionally "Associate Membership" may be considered for those that meet "Full Membership" criteria but prefer not to be a member and are willing to contribute to the USAF ROTORHEADS goal.
Honorary Membership: An individual that does not meet the "Full Membership" criteria however he/she provides information/support to the group such as "Aviation Historians".
Special Honorary Membership: The spouse of those with "Full Membership" is automatically included in this category.
Auxiliary Membership: The spouse of a deceased member.
"STATEMENT OF PURPOSE" To provide a venue in which USAF ROTORHEADS are able to reunite with old friends and establish new friendships, and to share stories and pictures of their experiences. To garner specific U. S. Air Force helicopter information and assemble in an all inclusive location for easy access.
"MISSION STATEMENT" To preserve and safeguard the information contained in the Blog and on the web site as a history of Air Force helicopters and those that were associated with them.
"VISION" To become the “site of choice” relating to all U. S. Air Force helicopter matters.
