1976 - 1984 At Hurlburt Field, FL. with the 20th Special Operations Squadron as a UH-1N door gunner.

While participating in "Operation Bat" in the Bahamas my UH-1N, 69-6644, crashed on 9 January 1984. I suffered a broken back and the rest of my crew Capt. Dyke H. Whitbeck (P), 1st Lt. Thomas L. Hamby (CP) and SSgt. Edgardo L. Acha (FE) died in the crash.
