Just a note on the background of the 305th RSQ.
The Rescue unit at Selfridge AFB, Michigan and had SA/HU-16 aircraft, was the 49th Rescue Sq. And, General Duane Cassidy was assigned to the 49th as a LT. They converted to the 305th in 1958 and continued to fly the HU-16s. Also, Udo Fischer was a PJ assigned to the 49th at Selfridge and stayed on with the 305th.
