Art Brand

 

I joined the Air Force in June, 1960.  Early to mid sixties I was a Fire Fighter on the HH-43B stationed at Hahn AB in Germany.  I liked being around Helicopters so I went to Sheppard AFB to retrain and become a Helicopter Mechanic.  Stayed at Sheppard and was assigned to Post Dock where I worked and flew on the H-19, H-43 and CH-3. 

 

Went to DaNang AB South Vietnam in May, 1967 as a Flight Engineer on the HH-3E 37th ARRS (Jolly Green Giants). 

 

May, 1968 I was assigned to the Sea Survival School at Homestead AFB Fl. Flying on the H-21. 

 

Early to mid seventies was spent with the 1st Helicopter Squadron at Andrews AFB Md. where I flew on the H-21, CH-3 and Huey N model. 

 

From 1975 till the end of 1978, I was at Sembach AB Germany where I was the Flight Line Expediter for the CH-53. 

 

From 1979 till June 1980 I was at Hill AFB Utah where I was again the Flight Line Expediter for the CH-53 and the C-130. 

 

I Retired in June, 1980, 20 years to the day.
