Mar 55 – Vance AFB, OK. – TB-25 Mitchell twin engine bombers.

 

Aug 31, 1955 – Awarded Pilot wings and commissioned 2nd Lt.

 

Sep - Dec 1955 – Helicopter pilot training – Edward Gary AB, San Marcos, TX. H-13 and H-19.

 

Dec 5, 1955 – Helicopter Instructor Taining – H-13 : Dec 13 - Assigned to instruct Army helicopter students at Gary AB, TX. H-13

 

Jul 26, 1956 – L-19 maintenance section, Gary AB, TX.

Awarded – Silver Star, DFC w/1 OLC, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal w/6 OLC, AF Commendation Medal w/1 OLC, AFOUA w/3 OLC, others.

 

Aircraft Commander on Longest Overwater Rescue flight for a Land Based Helicopter (450 miles at sea) Alaska 1971.

 

Historian for the USAF Helicopter Pilot Associan. Enjoy the Reunions and the old (and older) friends.
